The Friends of HCBT

July Newsletter

The Friends were very lucky last month to receive a cheque for £300 from the Hatfield Physiotherapy Unit, due to the closure of the service as we know it.  It was a very welcome donation and gratefully received.

The Doncaster Wheatsheaf Singers gave us a delightful concert in Church on the 27th June.  They performed an extremely enjoyable & varied programme with songs ranging from the Andrews Sisters to Elton John & Robbie Williams!  Sadly, audience numbers were low and if you didn't come, you really missed a treat.  They sounded as smooth as they looked in their beautiful burgundy satin shirts.  After the raffle &      expenses, we were happy to make £140.

Although The Garden Party was moved into Church due to the dubious weather forecast, it was still enjoyable with plenty of people coming along, we had our usual souvenir stall and made some sales so it was all worthwhile and it didn't rain after all!  I hope the weather keeps fine for our Coach Trip to Skipton...

Our next event is a Bingo Evening in the Barn at 7pm on Tues 11th Aug. Tickets are £2 and include light refreshments and are available from our ‘Bingo Manager' - Janet on 849377 or you can pay at the door.  As many Bingo Cards as you can handle will be for sale inside.

Other dates for your diary Sat 12th Sep Coffee Morning & a Beetle Drive on Wed 30th Sep, both at the Barn.

For information: You can become a Friend for a minimum donation of £5.00 per year.  These subscriptions are the backbone of our fund-  raising efforts, with all funds raised going only to help maintain, conserve and restore our wonderful Grade 1 listed building and grounds.  Anyone can join us.  For more information please contact our  Membership Secretary, Jim Brebner, on 01302 840013.
