FRIENDS OF HATFIELD CHURCH BUILDING TRUST
I've just come back from a very pleasant evening at the Beetle Drive where we had an exceptional Driver this time, Sheila Horsewood. Sheila had the best score in the 1st half plus highest overall score for the evening. Elizabeth Warren won the 2nd half. Well done to them both - I think we'll have to handicap Sheila next time though! Janet reported a nice profit of around £45 for the evening so many thanks to her for organising and to everyone who participated and helped. Our next event will be the Pub Quiz so I'll report on that next time.
It will soon be the Autumn Fayre in Church on Sat 14th Nov and we'll be manning our usual Friends Stall there and then it will be time to start planning the Christmas festivities so here's a taster of what we have in store so keep these dates free...
A Coach Trip to Grassington Dickensian Market on Sat 5th Dec which sounds like a wonderful day out with lots going on (more details next time) and then our
Christmas Coffee Morning at the Barn Sat 12th Dec with mince pies & mulled wine. Next it's
A Meal for Christmas at the Vermuyden Tea Rooms in Thorne on Moday 14th Dec in the evening with some home grown entertainment, hopefully. Numbers are limited for the coach trip and meal so book early if you'd like to join us by contacting Janet on 849377.
For information: You can become a Friend for a minimum donation of £5.00 per year. These subscriptions are the backbone of our fundraising efforts, with all funds raised going only to help maintain, conserve and restore our wonderful Grade 1 listed building and grounds. Anyone can join us. For more information please contact our Membership Secretary, Jim Brebner, on ( 01302 840013.
